A Christmas Carol by Dickens, CharlesA Christmas Carol by Dickens, Charles (1812 - 1870) Printed for the Friends of William Edwin Rudge. Mt. Vernon NY, 1930. 6-3/4" Tall, two volumes, gilt ruled top. Frontis of Dickens in Volume I. Rudge began issuing "Christmas Books" in 1920; this the last book in that decade long series. The book also has the distinction of being the first to employ Linotype Baskerville, with the original mats being hand-carried back into the US by Rudge and which were recut by Mr. George W. Jones. A signed card by Mr. Rudge is included as a token of appreciation. Includes slipcase. Tooled and gilt letter binding.
